  • We have only had this tie out for a few weeks but like it very much. Our dog is about 55 lbs and the cable is strong but not heavy or thick. We like the red plastic coating because the cable can be seen in the grass. (It would probably do a job to the lawn mower if we didn’t see it laying there). The only worry we have is that unlike rope, there is very little spring to it so if your dog energetically lunges out of the cable range,

(s)he will be snapped backwards with force. I think this may be a training issue rather than a product issue. In any event, it seems like a good quality product.

  • Having a pup that needs to learn the boundaries of the yard, or to stay by the site while camping requires a good, long, sturdy lead. She is young and only 30lbs, but this lead stood solid to her razor sharp puppy teeth and every tug and jerk she threw at it. It is invaluable when camping in a public area, as she is a little social butterfly and feels the need to visit everyone in sight. 40 feet can be daunting to roll up and store, or to untangle at times, but no regrets.

  • I bought this for my 14 year old Husky who has started to wander the neighborhood and wander into the street. It works just like I thought it would. It is nice and long, easy to clip, and seems to be holding up well. I don’t know how strong it is based on the fact that my dog does not pull at his tie at all—if he gets stuck on long grass, he won’t pull to get free; he justs stands there looking pathetic:) But for what I need, it works great and is one of the longest I can find. I would buy this product again.

  • Good tie out. Sometimes hard to find 40 ft in the store. Happy with purchase.

  • This is a decent product. But, don’t leave your dog outside by himself. My 45lb mix wants to chase the deer and squirrels that roam the neighborhood. He pulled hard enough that the latch (up + down slider part) attached to the stake snapped right off. He took off after the deer with 40′ of cable trailing behind him. I found him 2.5 hrs later tangled up behind a neighbor’s house. Certainly my bad for leaving him unattended while we ate breakfast just inside from where he was. We got a lot of of it during play time and for use while we were in the yard with him. He quickly got used to how far he could go without the yank. If I get another one it will only be used while he is under supervision. I remain surprised he was able to break that clasp so easily.
