If you are a caring pet parent, you will want to avoid this product at all costs. You may end up fearing for you pet’s well-being.
Pure agony. Never a moment’s peace. Frightening. This dog’s breathing sped up, anxiety amplified, constantly shrugging HARD trying to get the awful thing off. Applied, this awful product dug it’s edges against this dog’s skin so tightly that a finger could barely be slipped under, even then it was dug in and even when loosened to the most extent it was so tight as to be cruel. This dog couldn’t eat while this awful thing was on due to the compression of it’s chest and stomach. Trouble walking exacerbated into *pained* trouble trying to jump up to find higher ground (and agony again trying to descend again.) Even to have this “device” removed, this dog was *so intensely terrified* by the experience of wearing this foul thing that it *refused* to return to the same person who put it on just to have product removed. It anihiliated all trust this dog had for this person–within *one* hour–and nothing terrifying was going on at the time: the dog was just acting nervy. ONLY AFTER HAVING THIS REMOVED BY ANOTHER PERSON did this dog find peace, was able to eat and breathe normally again.
This product is said to comfort and calm a dog by applying secure and steady pressure across the dog’s body, with straps (read: increased pressure) across the chest and top of the front leg joints and across the mid to lower back compressing the chest and the stomach. Can you see now where this product might go extremely wrong?
IMHO, This product should be removed from the market immediately!

I wanted to return it for a refund but my wife insists it may just take time. I doubt it after a couple of thunderstorms later. If it does not work for your dog return it immediately.

I have a crazy 4 year old Jack Russell terrier who, among his long list of phobias, is petrified of thunderstorms (and bridges, and storm drains…you get the idea). I have tried absolutely everything bar hiring a professional. I’m sure this coat works on ‘normal’ dogs so I’m not going to give it a bad review – just doesn’t work for bonkers dogs. I didn’t return it for one reason – it looks so cute on him! It is extremely well made and easy to use – kudos to designer. Just a pity it didn’t stop the high pitched incessant barking. Ah well – next suggestion please…

I ordered this after reading about the product in a pet column in local newspaper. Our golden retriever would panic during thunderstorms, firecrackers, or neighbors at target practice. We tried it out several times when storms have approached, and it is easy to put on and does seem to have a calming effect–she wasn’t trying to climb over the back of the couch or into our laps!

The design of this product was not designed with the dog’s comfort in mind. The product doesn’t allow for the dog to move comfortably in the wrap… Which in-of-itself can cause more anxiety. Furthermore, the product is heavy and non-breathable, causing further discomfort to the dog… Especially during hot or wet days… Which kind of defeats the purpose. Not worth the money, my recommendation… Search for another similar item that is breathable and more comfortable for the dog, as it will further help reduce the dog’s anxiety.
